Early Music Textbook.
Unidentified signature (E) of a treatise on music.
Place of printing and date unknown

Two folded leaves of this early example of music printing were discovered to be pasted onto the inside covers of another volume in the library's Rare Book Collection. Evidence suggests that they were printed in the early sixteenth century, using a Venetian or Basel font of type. The text indicates that the eight pages were part of a pedagogical treatise on music theory, used perhaps in the monastic or cathedral schools of the Church. Subsequent research has failed to identify the work.
