Thomas Lindsey Blayney
Thomas Lindsey Blayney was born December 3, 1874, in Lebanon, Kentucky, He graduated from Centre College in 1894, and received a Ph.D. from Heidelberg University (Germany) in 1904. Blayney returned to serve as professor of modern languages and history at Centre from 1904 until 1912. He then was a professor of German at Rice University (1912-1924), President of Texas State Women's College (1924-1926), and dean of Carleton College (1926-1946). He served in the AEF during World War I from 1917-1919. Blayney died March 13, 1971.
