An 1871 graduate of Centre College, he served 40 years as treasurer and trustee of the college.

Dr. Francis Powell Cheek (1884-1939)

A 1904 graduate of Centre College, he was professor of religion and Bible at Centre for seventeen years, and a member of the Board of Trustees.
