1951 - team ended with a 5-1 record and were invited to play Northern Illinois State College in the Corn Bowl at Bloomington, Illinois. Centre refused the bid because the college's athletic committee oppossed participation in post-season games, which they felt over-emphasized one phase of the school's intercollegiate program.
