To the Honorable the General Assembly of Kentucky
We the subscribers, citizens of the town of Danville & its vicinity, feeling a deep & immediate interest in the appropriation of the funds of our Academy, do most heartily concur in opinion with the Trustees of the Danville Academy as to the propriety of uniting said funds with such as are proposed to be raised by the Synod of Kentucky, and join with them in petitioning the Legislature to merge said Trustees in a larger incorporation, and vest said funds in said incorporation

for the benefit of a Literary Institution to be designated "The College of Kentucky" upon the principles contained in the petition of the Trustees [that?] Academy & in their written proposition to the Synod of Kentucky. And your petitioners as in duly bound will ever pray.
