About the middle of June we received from you a circular addressed to architects for designs etc. for a College Edifice [Old Main] to be erected at Danville.

Absence from the city and sickness in our family has prevented us as yet from giving the subject that attention we desired. We have some sketches which we will submit if still in season. We fear however that we have delayed too long.

If the time fixed for reception of Designs etc. has not yet elapsed be so kind as to notify us of that fact. Our sketches are in such a shape that we could submit them in a few days from the reception of your answer to this note.
