Board of Trustees of Caldwell College met at the Citizens National Bank of Danville. Present John A. Quisenberry, George E. Wiseman, Robert T. Quisenberry, George W. Welsh, Samuel R. Cheek, John C. Acheson, N.K. Tunis, and John A. Cheek.
An application to the College Board 156 5th Ave. New York was presented to the Board showing estimated expenses and receipts for the years 1907-08 and 1908-09, as required by said College Board. On motion the application was approved and request made of the College Board for the sum of one thousand dollars for the year 1908-09, and the President and Secretary were authorized to sign same and forward to Rev. J.S. Dickson, Secretary, with a letter setting forth the necessity that that amount be granted.

The Spring meeting of the Trustees of Caldwell College was held at the Presidents office. Present John A. Quisenberry, Judge C.T. Armstrong, Robert T. Quisenberry, John J. Craig, Prof. Samuel R. Cheek, N.K. Tunis, George E. Wiseman, Morris J. Farris, George W. Welsh, John C. Acheson, and John A. Cheek.
Minutes of previous meetings were read and approved as recorded.
The financial statements of John A. Cheek, Treasurer, and John C. Acheson, President of the Faculty, were presented and read for the information of the Board. Both statements cover the fiscal year ending September 1st 1907, and were on motion approved. The Treasurer was directed to record in his minute book the names of the subscribers to the $100,000 fund which is being raised by a committee of this Board heretofore appointed. The Treasurers report showing that $25,645 had been actually paid to him on account of this fund.
On motion, the President of the Board of Trustees was authorized to appoint an auditing committee to audit the reports of the Treasurer and the President of the Faculty. President appointed.
President John C. Acheson made a report of the present condition and needs of the College, and made a recommendation that in the future credits be given towards the diploma and A.B. degrees to students of the Music Department pursuing the course of study in music as prescribed in the catalogue. This recommendation was approved.
The contract between the Board of Trustees and John C. Acheson for the year from July 1st 1908 to July 1st 1909 was on motion approved and the President of this Board authorized to sign same.
The Building Committee heretofore appointed was authorized to secure plans for a gymnasium building, which is to contain additional recitation rooms in front of the gymnasium.
The Secretary reported that Mr. Logan C. Murray had accepted the position of a Trustee, and Mr. William G. Dunlap had declined a similar position to which he had been elected.

The Board of Trustees of Caldwell College met in Second Presbyterian Church, Danville, Ky. Present John A. Quisenberry, George E. Wiseman, N.K. Tunis, Samuel R. Cheek, Charles H. Rodes, J.M. Wallace, John C. Acheson, Robert T. Quisenberry, and John A. Cheek.
Rev. Walter E. Price was elected Vice President with salary contingent on raising money for buildings and endowment and duties as thereafter are defined in a contract to be made.
On motion Mr. John A. Cheek was sent to New York to confer with the College Board, the General Education Board, and to meet with Rev. Walter E. Price.
Board adjourned to meet at 9 o'clock A.M. June 3rd 1908, which is commencement day.
Board met, pursuant to adjournment. There were present, Logan C. Murray, Admiral John Crittenden Watson, George W. Welsh, J.H Letcher, Charles T. Armstrong, Morris J. Farris, N.K. Tunis, Samuel R. Cheek, John J. Craig, Charles H. Rodes, George E. Wiseman, S.N. Veach, and John A. Cheek.
On motion, Admiral Watson was elected President pro tem, and in the absence of the President of the Board of Trustees authorized to sign the diplomas.
Committee consisting of Watson, Murray, Acheson, Robert T. Quisenberry, George E. Wiseman, and John A. Cheek were appointed to confer with Rev. Walter E. Price about a contract with him as Vice President and agree with him on nature of his duties, the percent which would accrue to him in lieu of salary in his efforts to raise money for Caldwell College, but in no event was his compensation to be other than contingent on his success in raising money both for his salary and expenses.
