Requisitions
Young ladies are required to be punctual at school and in their seats, when the silence-bell rings, at half-past eight.
To refrain from every form of communication during study hours.
To make no unnecessary noise in any part of the building.
To keep books clean, and the contents of desks neatly arranged.
To be prompt in going to and returning from a recitation-room.
To deposit in desks all books, slates, pencils, pens, etc., before dismissal.
To leave school quietly as soon as excused.
To study closely and attentively at home.
To be prepared for every school exercise at the appointed time.
Music Pupils to practice their lessons constantly, during the full time assigned for that purpose, and to use Pianos at no other time.
Every young lady is required to conduct, at all times in a quiet and lady-like manner, and to promote, as far as possible, the comfort, happiness, and improvement of others.
Prohibitions
Young ladies are prohibited from marking, cutting, scratching, or otherwise defacing, Pianos, Chairs, Desks, or any portion of the buildings.
From meddling with the contents of another's desk.
From leaving their seats for any purpose except to receive class instruction.
From indulging in eating and drinking during study hours.
From wasting school hours by laughing, playing, idling, standing, looking around, teasing, or otherwise calling off the attention of pupils from their studies.
From visiting any music or recitation room, without permission.
From writing letters or reading any books or publications during school hours, except those which pertain directly to the lesson.
From leaving the grounds during the half hour for recess.
From loud talking in the Chapel or in any recitation room.
