The Faculty resolved that the following gentlemen, members of the Senior Class of 1867 & 8, be recommended to the Board of Trustees to receive the first degree in the Arts, viz Biggs, Burdett, Denny, Evans, McAfee, McKee, Walker, Young, and Boyle. Mr. McAfee's average grade of scholarship being the highest, the first honor was allotted to him. The average grade of the remainder of the class being founded far below his, and being equal with each other, it was not deemed advisable to assign a Second Honor.

Rev. William S. Breckinridge, D.D., the President of this institution, having resigned his office, the following resolutions were adopted by the Faculty.
Resolved that we, the remaining members of this body, here record our high estimate of his personal worth as a gentleman and a Christian,

and testify to the kindly and pleasant relations which have ever existed between him and us during his connection with the College.
Resolved, that he is accompanied to his new field of labor with our earnest prayer that his efforts therein may be occurred with the abundant blessing of God.

It was determined that the College would suspend its exercises for the Christmas holidays on the 24th instant, and resume them on the first Monday (January 4th) after New Year.
