Faculty met to hear a letter from Mr. Evans of Maysville, Kentucky, relative to his son's entering College. This letter was in reply to one written him by Professor Fales. The young man had attended Central University and Hanover College, but he had done nothing at either Institution. A letter from Dr. Jns. Hayes of Maysville was also read, asking the Faculty to receive the boy. In view of the facts and as the boy had been a card player, the Faculty deemed it best to advise the Rev. Mr. Evans not to bring his son, as we felt that there was a great risk in accepting him as a student.

Faculty met at the call of the Dean - who reported that Mr. Cooper; Saller, W.; Grinstead; Huguely, W. R.; and Roberts, W. W. were caught playing cards in the College House. They were summoned to appear before the Faculty December 13th.
Moved and carried that the gymnasium be closed in the forenoon, except during regular exercise under the Director.

Faculty met to receive the excuses of the gentlemen summoned the previous week.
Mr. Green to be cautioned and warned for smoking in gymnasium.
Moved and carried that Mr. Grinstead & Huguely, W. R., be suspended till beginning of the 2nd term, that they stand privately all examinations, and, also, that they will not be admitted to their classes until they have passed their examinations.
Moved & carried that Mr. Cooper, Roberts, W. W., and Saller, W. demerit 25 per cent in department, and also that they be reprimanded in presence of the Faculty.

Faculty met to inform Messrs. Grinstead, Huguely, W. R., Cooper, Roberts, W. W., and Saller, W. of the action of the 13th wit which was given by the Dean.
As to the troubles in the College House, it was deemed best to ascertain more fully the condition of things, and to know further proofs before the Faculty can take any action. This opinion of the Faculty to be made known to Mr. Heizer.
It was the decision of the Faculty that no special examinations be given to those students going home before Christmas vacation, except in very urgent cases.

A call meeting of the Faculty by the Dean, owing to troubles in the College House.
After citing Mr. C. B. Roberts before the Faculty, and hearing his defense, moved and carried that C. B. Roberts vacate the room in the House that he now occupies.
In view of the fact that Mr. Cooper assumes all responsibility for the trouble and refuses to divulge anything, moved and carried that Mr. Cooper be required to leave the College House immediately, this being the second time he has had to appear before the Faculty for disorders in the House, and that too in his own room.
Both gentlemen made their own defense to the Faculty.
Ordered that Mr. Henson execute without delay this order.
