Faculty met with all present. Mr. Rogers assigned to his classes, to take Psychology as one of his studies. Professor Cheek granted a leave of absence for several weeks, to visit Mexico. Prof. Cheek will make the best arrangement possible in regard to his classes.

Faculty met, and reported the following students.
Rogers doing very moderately in all classes. Higgins, given till last of week to improve. Ensminger & Quest, left to Professor Cheek. Washer and Ewing - doing special work in Latin and excused from Psychology. Cram & Knaebel to be excused from Psychology on condition that textbook used, length of time devoted to subject and knowledge of subject be satisfactory to Prof. Johnson. Irvine of senior class informed by Prof. Fales of his deficiencies in his department. Caldwell, Robert allowed to take up Sophomore Science with the understanding that he must make up all back work in Prof. Fales' department.
The subject of Elocution referred to Dr. Roberts and Prof. Thomas.

Faculty met. Moved and carried that Mr. G. W. Welch and Higgins be dismissed from their classes. The President to write to their parents informing them of the action of the Faculty, and to request that they be called home. Bonner of the seminary to report to the Professors all work done, and then the Professors to decide whether or not Mr. Bonner shall be allowed to take the senior class and offer for graduation.

Faculty held regular meeting. Thornton Moore reported doing nothing. Eugene Lee reported absent most of the time. W. Faut Warford reported absent most of the time. Mr. Bonner's request to become a regular Senior was refused, as he had not finished all required work up to Senior year. His deficiencies must be made up first. Mr. Sullivan of Junior class was excused from gymnasium. Dr. Nelson asked the privilege of dividing his Freshman class - Request granted. Rogers - elective - reported by Prof. Thomas as doing very poorly. The names of Higgins and Geo. Winston Welsh to be dismissed from their classes - announcement to be made public in the Chapel.

Faculty called together by Dr. Roberts. Mr. Carpenter summoned to appear before the Faculty. 1900 catalogues to be printed this year.

Faculty held regular meeting. Mr. Carpenter appeared before the Faculty to explain his action in firing a pop-cracker in Dr. Nelm's classroom. Mr. Carpenter stated that he did not initiate the movement, but that the fire-cracker was given him, after he entered the classroom. That he was urged to do it, and in a moment of forgetfulness lighted and fired the pop cracker. After bearing Mr. Carpenter's defense, and after deliberation on part of the Faculty, it was moved and unanimously carried that Mr. Carpenter be dismissed from College the remainder of the College year. Dismission to public in Chapel. Petitions from the Different Classes asking for a week's holiday after the intermediate examinations were read before the Faculty and refused upon the grounds that action upon the petitions was beyond the jurisdiction of the Faculty, and has to be referred to the Board of Trustees.

Faculty met with all members present. The President requested to ask Dr. Boyle about Mr. Warford's continued sickness. Upon the petition of the students, the 23rd of Feb. of this year was given them as holiday. Catalogues to the number of 2000 to be ordered; and size 12 mo. in lieu of the larger size.

Regular meeting of Faculty. Petition by the students in behalf of Mr. Carpenter, begging that he be reinstated was declined by the Faculty. Mr. Saper to take up composition with Professor Thomas in the Sophomore Class. Mr. Humphrey to take English on condition that he be examined in Physics. Messrs. Washer and Ewing must by order of Faculty take regular Junior classes or pass examinations in those studies that come in Junior Year.

Faculty met. Mr. Chapman of Senior class asked the privilege of standing his examinations prior to the regular examinations of Senior class, so as to accept a call before the Senior work is over. Granted by the Faculty. All students desiring to go to Lexington, Friday, April 13th, to the Inter Collegiate Oratorical Contest to be excused from recitations for that day.

Faculty held regular meeting. Petition of Senior class, asking for vacation one week earlier, was granted. Mr. Bonner was advised to see each Professor in regard to his work. Mr. McGuire, T. was referred back to Prof. Crawford. Speakers for Commencement. Messrs. Thomas, Shaw, Barnhill, Honan, Grubbs, Humphrey, Roberts, and McKenzie of the Law School. Prof. Johnson was appointed to prepare schedule of Senior examinations.

Faculty held regular meeting. Letter from Rev. J. T. Boyer presented by Prof. Fales asking for endorsement as Chaplain. Prof. Fales selected to write the letter and comply with Mr. Boyer's wishes. Reported as doing nothing - Duncan, Eugene Lee and Hayes. Upon information with regard to Mr. Duncan, the unanimous opinion of the Faculty was that he be dismissed from College. Mr. Lee to be asked to withdraw from College as doing nothing.

Regular meeting of Faculty. Mr. Barnhill, O. P. appointed by the Faculty to represent the College in the Southern Inter-Collegiate Oratorical Contest at Columbia, S.C. Mr. Clay Goodloe's request to represent the College at the Chautauqua Inter-Collegiate Oratorical Contest of Ky. at Lexington, Ky. was deferred till after Commencement. Mr. E. W. Lee's requests, that he be allowed to continue at College till after Commencement was refused. At the request of Ex-Gov. Knott two speakers for the Law Department were granted for Commencement. Speeches of all speakers for Commencement not to exceed 800 words each. Valedictorian for this session, (1899-1900) Mr. Daniel Lindsey Thomas.

Faculty met and received new students. Messrs. W. Sampson and H. Dormand Sullivan requested to be enrolled as Seniors; as these two gentlemen were Juniors, and had already completed two or more studies in Junior class, and provided all deficiencies were made good, the requests was granted. A communication from Mr. Robinson was referred to the Prof. of English. Rolls of all classes called over. Regular meeting of Faculty hereafter 12:05 Monday.

A special meeting of the Faculty. Mr. Nakamura of Japan represented by Mr. Powers, asks to be excused from attending recitations, on the ground that he did not know enough English to understand the instruction. It was decided that Gov. Knott and Prof. Thomas assign work for Mr. Nakamura leading to the M.A. degree, and that Mr. Powers could aid Mr. Nakamura in his studies. Prof. Gordon asked to see and advise Mr. McDonald, who desires to take Chemistry and Physics. Next Faculty meeting to be October 15. Adjourned.

Faculty held regular meeting. In place of President Roberts, Professor Thomas was appointed by the Faculty to advance the Kentucky Educational Association at Louisville during Christmas vacation of 1900.
It is the opinion of the Faculty that graduates of Centre College who prosecute studies leading to M.A. or M.S. degrees shall be charged only the diplomas fee of $5.00 when the Degrees are conferred. Graduates of other Colleges shall be charged $10.00 in addition to the diploma fee of $5.00.

Regular meeting of the Faculty - Professor Fales asked to prepare scheme of examinations for 1st term, ending December.
Granted by the Faculty to members of the Senior class may, if they desire, elect Electricity in place of Ethics or English.
Moved & carried that no student shall be excused from examinations, unless the excuses be presented in writing to the Faculty at regular meetings, and that no special examinations be allowed except under extreme circumstances. All pleas or excuses in either of the above cases must be submitted in writing to the Faculty.

Mr. Campbell before the Faculty to know what work he has to do in order to take the Degree of A.B. the present session. In Latin he was behind two terms of Sophomore year. In other departments he was up with work required in Centre College - 12 hours 2nd term, 9 hours 3rd term.
